Historically seen as one of Hong Kong island’s industrial hubs, Kennedy Town has recently embraced a creative side and is now seen as a sought after place for the modern millennial to live. Breaking away from the traditional bulkiness of the factory loft style interiors, Indigo Living married trendsetting design with the area’s traditional roots to furnish 48 residential apartments and created a contemporary Clubhouse at No.18 Catchick Street. Providing a complete one stop shop of FF&E and interior design services for the Clubhouse (91sqm), Indigo Living’s design team adopted the concept of Tangram to sculpt the space.

The result is a spectacular deign-led look and feel, which is both enduring and cost-effective.

THE PERFECT PIECE OF THE PUZZLE

Using Tangram, a Chinese geometrical puzzle consisting of a square cut into pieces that can be arranged to make other shapes, Indigo Living was able to create a striking wall panelling effect at the lift lobby, which was complemented by sophisticated industrial lighting throughout the whole space.

STRIKING YET SENSIBLE

Providing the illusion of more space through the use of a mirrored wall to disguise the gym to cleverly choosing chic carpet tiles that can be removed and cleaned individually; Indigo Living made sure that its design was practical yet never scrimped on design. With privacy for guests cited as a primary factor, Indigo Living installed glass entrance doors to the lounge, which at the touch of a button become frosted to ensure discretion. Scandinavian furniture with round edges softened the complete look.

THE WOW FACTOR

Indigo worked with a kitchen specialist for the state of the art cooking facilities which led on to the function room, which is styled as a dining room. Indigo Living customized the shark wallpaper to provide a talking point for diners, a television is discreetly hidden behind bespoke cabinetry and the dining table is tailor-made for the room.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

A strategically placed bookshelf separates the lounge from the function room while giving guests something to catch their eye.
