The Langham London stands grandly at Portland Place, facing Regent’s Park in the district of Marylebone. Built between 1863 and 1865, the five-star hotel with an impressive heritage recently renovated 50 of its guestrooms and signature suites with the help of its long-term interior decorators, Richmond. To revive the place, Richmond turned to Indigo Living to supply and design custom-made furniture.
The Langham is no stranger to Indigo Living’s touch, having already worked on its hotels in Hong Kong and Sydney. For London, the brief was crisp, clean and contemporary – furniture that felt light and modern, with understated luxury, but decadence all the same.
To produce the custom-made pieces, our Indigo Living team created a series of shop drawings for Richmond to review. This was followed by a mock-up of each different piece before beginning mass production of all the approved designs. From the very first stage – ideas, mood boards and sketches – to the finished rooms, quality was our key focus.
With the use of gold accents, high-end materials and luxurious finishes, we created elegant pieces that brought sophistication to the rooms without compromising comfort and the hotel’s rich history. Instead of heavy patterns, we used light curves and neutral colours with pops of colour to add visual interest.
With this new breath of fresh air, the Langham London is now ready to welcome guests and provide them with a new, improved and utterly stylish experience.
